This month we started with a bang! My brother Sam got our family together to hike to the Timpanogos Caves on the
2nd. It was so fun! It felt like we were going uphill both ways, but it was worth it! McKinley walked up the hill all by herself!!! Way to go McKinley!!!
There were two mishaps that came about...McKinley, after just going potty, had to go potty in the cave. WHAT!?!?!?!
Ya sure enough as soon as the doors closed behind us she started announcing she had to go potty. She had just gone, so I kept telling her she had to wait and hold it. McKinley kept wining about it, and crying, and doing a potty dance. So I knew she really had to go, and we were drinking a ton of water that day! What were we supposed to do? Well we stayed back behind the group and yes...she peed into a waterbottle. Gross, I know, and poor thing is going to love that I documented this, but it needs to be written down:) Two seconds later...the tour guide gives us a pee bag. Really? You didn't see my dancing, crying child announcing she had to pee, and now you are giving us a pee bag? o-well. We all enjoyed the tour much better after she went. So for all of you out there...ask for a pee bag!
The second mishap...just minutes after exiting the cave Kasidy peed her pants! WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CHILDREN?!?! She looked at the ground and said 'potty'. Sure enough there was a little splash on the ground. GREAT...So we took her to the side of the trail, and she relieved herself the rest of the way. Good thing we brought an extra pair of pants for her. I couldn't help but laugh, and poor Greg just couldn't believe it.

After our hike we stopped at IKEA. We bought two benches that work as a little table for our girls. This is going to be their art center. I have it all planned out that after breakfast they go to the table and do an activity. This way I can have it all set up ready to go and the girls can go straight to their activity while I clean things up etc. Plus it also works as extra seating for kids, and a bench for adults! I love it!!! I have also noticed that they have used it just to play puzzles, magnet dolls, etc. from our game closet! Such a great purchase, it is the best!!!
They loved their surprise when they woke up that morning. Greg and I could hardly walk that morning from our hike! We are getting old!:)
Sunday the 3rd was a silly day for Daddy! He sure loves his girls. They have really loved dressing him up lately. He even let/tolerated us painting one of his toenails pink! (McKinley and I pinkie promised that we would paint his toenails to be silly. She loves to tease:) Such a good dad!

And introducing...cruisette, my new bike! (Purchased in May but not used until June 1st:) Thank you for my birthday money!!! My old bike broke...I would turn the handle bars, and the wheel kept going straight. Yes, even after multiple fixes, it just wouldn't fix anymore. We have taken her out many times already, and have put her in our morning routine to bike ride everyday! The girls love it, and so do I!
Friday the 15 I woke up early to get on a plane to NYC! Greg was already there for work, and so I decided to go there for the weekend. It was so much fun!!! The prep, and anxiety, before the trip was not a piece of cake.
I never had anxiety before I had kids. Now...It drives me crazy how worried I can get when it comes to my kids. The whole week before I kept worrying about, "What if I die?" "What if my kids get hurt?" Etc. I know of at least two times where I was just in tears about the whole situation. I know, it's a bit dramatic, but that's how I feel. I hate to leave my kids!
Back to the trip...After I didn't die on the plane, so relieved, Greg and I had a blast! This was our second time in the Big Apple so we decided to see things differently. Instead of using the subway like last time, we took a tour bus. Such a great idea! You could jump on and off the bus as you pleased, and got awesome facts about NY while you waited for your destination. Not only that, but you got to see NY instead of being underground the whole time. I would definitly recommend the tour bus over the subway.
I am getting ahead of myself. I haven't even told you about our hotel room!!! Greg sure surprised me! After getting out of the airport, riding the train, getting on the subway, we made it to the city. Can I just tell you...I LOVE NEW YORK! It has an incredible energy that I love! Anyway, we made it to the city and wound our way through all the people pulling our suitcases and we make it to our hotel...IN TIME SQUARE!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?!? Seriously! We had a corner suite that showcased all of Time Square! It was AmAzINg! Good job Greg!
We dropped off our bags, and we were out of there exploring the city! I can't get enough of it! Really that sums up our trip...We saw an awesome broadway show called, THE BEST MAN, and that was fun! We also went to China Town and did a little shopping, along with seeing some sights of the incredible city sitting on a bus! It was great time and I am so glad I went, even though I was afraid I'd never get back:)
Just a tip on the tour busses...Don't take the information they give you too seriously. Acording to our tour guides, Macy's, the largest department store in the world, is 900 sq feet. It is also 2 billion sq feet.

When we got back we had some neighborhood fun! I can't believe how well the kids are all standing in line! Way to go kids!
Tuesday the 19 Danica invited us to the zoo! Thanks Danica for the great day! It was so laid back it was nice. There wasn't a rush to see everything, and we got to enjoy ourselves! The bird show was my favorite part! I loved that the birds swooped right over our heads. The girls still talk about it. Cute cousins! Thanks again Danica for the invite!
On the
21st we made our way to Bear Lake! I love how magical it is for the cousins to get together and play! Both of the girls were super brave this trip! McKinley and Kasidy both waterskied! I know! Grandma and Grandpa bought an awesome kid's ski that they can float on behind the boat. I couldn't believe how well Kasidy did! She's only two and she was right there with the big cousins wanting a turn in the water. McKinley loved it too, she's go out there and sing her little heart out to the song SUMMER SUNSHINE from a Mermaid Tail (Barbie movie). McKinley was even daring enough to stand up on the tube! When the boat slowed down she fell in! She was brave and battled the cold water! Her mom doesn't even do that anymore;)
The day after Bear Lake, Kasidy took a 4 hour nap! She was a busy little person all week long!
30th was the last day of our fun month. To close it, we went with my family to see the new Disney movie Brave. We saw it at the Cinimark Theatre in Farmington. The new comons area in Farmington is really turning out beautiful! They had just finished a fountain and we got to see the water show when our movie was over. It is a fun place to live! Back to the movie...It was a fun movie. McKinley did great through the scary parts, and Kasidy sat on my lap the whole time. Kasidy isn't a movie watcher, but she sat through this one. Maybe cause I wouldn't let her down?:)
It was a great way to end the month!
